Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the
purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal
customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter
Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal
marketplace.
The Solution Architect position involves leading systems
engineering activities that support integrating, modernizing, and
deploying IT capabilities using remote desktop and cloud
technologies. Become a subject matter expert (SME) for the Aero
baseline and supporting programs, with the ability to communicate
the system's features, architecture, roadmap, and limitations to
various audiences.
Responsibilities
- This position involves leading systems engineering activities
that support integrating, modernizing, and deploying IT
capabilities using remote desktop and cloud technologies.
- Become a subject matter expert (SME) for the Aero baseline and
supporting programs, with the ability to communicate the system's
features, architecture, roadmap, and limitations to a variety of
audiences.
- Review architecture diagrams across many Aero programs to
identify similar dependencies, connections, and interactions with
other programs and databases.
- Collaborate with other program technical leadership on the
system architecture roadmap and backlog aligned to the customer's
technology strategy and vision.
- Decompose requirements, use cases, and need statements into
epics and features with clearly defined acceptance criteria that
will be assigned to agile development teams.
- Provide hands-on technical support to the team (systems
engineering, software development, testing).
- Execute analysis of alternatives (AoA) and prototypes to
determine the design of new system features and
capabilities.
- Participate and provide subject matter expertise in technical
exchange meetings and other customer or stakeholder
forums.
- Manage the system requirements and maintain technical
requirement documents.
- Create and communicate design artifacts to the team to ensure
applications and services are built to support the business and
architecture objectives.
- Create workflow and Architecture diagrams using Visio and/or
Cameo.
- Comprehend holistic solutions across the entire Aeronautical
Domain.
- Communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals, and
strategies to executive management and the team.
- Review AWS and OpenShift cloud architectures and connections
across systems and subsystems.
- Provide analysis across multiple cloud environments and
troubleshoot solutions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, Information
Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline and
8+ years of prior relevant experience OR
- Master's degree with 6+ years of prior relevant experience
OR
- 10+ years of experience in lieu of degree to include the
following:
- Experience with various AWS capabilities and services
- Experience with AWS networking and database
architecture
- Experience optimizing and managing AWS/cloud infrastructure
costs, including storage, computing, and database
- Experience across various architecture frameworks, including
Platform as a Service (PaaS) such as OpenShift, Virtual Desktop
Environments, and Virtual Server infrastructure
- Experience with System (hardware, software, and networking)
Design and Architecture
- Experience developing a backlog and technical roadmap
- Web Application and application workflow experience
- Experience as a product owner, systems engineer, or
architect
- Experience briefing stakeholders at all levels
- Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
- Active TS/SCI clearance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of agile SW development methodologies
- Ability to lead and prioritize systems engineering and
architecture requirements for several systems
- Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a
team setting.
- Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related
constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate
with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and
individuals.
- Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills,
and ability to work well with others.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office
applications.
- Experience working in a home office setting as well as the
ability to train end users on frequently asked technical
issues.
- Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the
phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor.
- Previous customer service experience strongly desired.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a
problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
